In the group that received acupuncture, there was a statistically significant decrease in threatened miscarriage symptoms such as cramping, bleeding, and back pain. Through thematic analysis, the study also revealed that women were not happy with the advice and medical support they received.

• Conclusion

The study reveals that acupuncture is a feasible intervention that can decrease threatened miscarriage symptoms in patients when compared with touch intervention. Although more evidence is needed to determine if it can reduce miscarriage incidence, data thus far is promising.
